ShepherdView Privacy Policy for Customers and Website Visitors ShepherdView (together with its affiliates and subsidiaries, including entities listed in Section 10 of this policy, “ShepherdView,” or “Us/We/Our”) cares about the privacy of individuals who visit our website at https://shepherdviewapp.com or use our ShepherdView mobile application or access our API (the “Sites”), and otherwise do business with us. This Privacy Policy explains how ShepherdView collects, uses, processes, discloses, and safeguards information we obtain from and about our customers, visitors to our Sites, and business prospects and partners (collectively, “You”), including information we collect when you visit our websites, use our mobile applications or other services offered by ShepherdView, or purchase our products and services (collectively, our “Services”). It also tells you about your rights and choices with respect to your information, and how you can contact us if you have any questions or concerns. Your use of the Services is subject to this Privacy Policy and to our Terms of Service that can be viewed at https://shepherdviewapp.com/terms-of-use. ShepherdView is a product of Shepherdview Technologies.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may change this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make any changes to this Privacy Policy, we will inform you by posting the revised Privacy Policy on ShepherdView website. Those changes will go into effect on the “last updated” date shown in the revised Privacy Policy. You consent to the revised Privacy Policy by continuing to use ShepherdView. We encourage you to check this Privacy Policy whenever you use ShepherdView to understand how your personal information is used.
1. How ShepherdView Collects Information
For the purpose of this Privacy Policy, “Personal Information” means any information relating to an identified or identifiable individual. We obtain Personal Information relating to you, our business partner, from various sources described below
Where applicable, we indicate whether and why you must provide us with Personal Information, as well as the consequences of failing to do so. If you do not provide Personal Information when requested, you may not be able to benefit from our Services if that information is necessary to provide you with the service or if we are legally required to collect it.
Personal Information Provided by You
Registration, Subscriptions, and Other Information You Provide We collect your information, including your sign-in credentials, name, email address, phone number, your desired password and your profile photo/image that you upload, when you register to use our Services, request that we contact you or provide additional information to you, or attend an event. Some of our pages (such as those accepting job applications) utilize framing techniques to serve content from our partners while preserving the look and feel of our Sites.
Please be aware that you are providing your Personal Information to these third parties and not to ShepherdView.
If you create or log into the app using Google sign-in, we will be able to access and collect certain public information like your name and email address and any other personal information that privacy settings on Google permits us to access.
Communications
If you contact us directly, such as to request information or access to the Services, or for Customer Support, we may receive additional information about you, such as your contact information and the contents of your communication. We may receive information when you complete a form on our Sites.
Messaging
When you send or receive a message on the app, we collect, process and store the content of those messages including the videos and custom message (if any) on our servers. The content of the messages may also be stored on the devices of the recipients. We cannot prevent others from making copies of your messages e.g. by taking screenshots or screen recordings. You should not use the Service to send messages if you want to be certain that the recipient cannot keep a copy.
Although messages between you and other users of the App are not made publicly available on the App, we reserve the right to review such messages in the event we believe (in our sole discretion) that you violated our Terms of Service.
Notwithstanding the foregoing, when you send or receive messages via our Service, we will collect information about these messages, including the time, date, sender and recipient of the message. We also collect information about the number of messages sent and received between you and your friends and which friends you exchange messages with most frequently.
Contact List
Although it does not affect the functionality of the app, we will ask for permission to your contact list for ease of adding a contact to your ShepherdView list of emergency contacts. We do not keep or share your contact list to any third party.
Profile Picture
The app requires you to upload your profile picture for easier identification for your contacts. ShepherdView does not share your profile picture with any third party.
Payment Information
If you pay for access to our Services, we may collect payment information that you provide, such as bank account information and other information necessary to transfer funds. Also, note that your receipt/bank statement may show our parent company name – Shepherdview Technologies Ltd as the vendor.
Third Party Account Credentials
In order to use certain ShepherdView Services, you may provide ShepherdView with credentials that grant access to third party websites and services, such as your developer or advertising account credentials.
Information We Collect When You Use the Services
Device Information
We receive information about your device, including IP address, web browser type, operating system version, mobile device model, device manufacturer and model, language codes, your Internet Service Provider (ISP), unique device identifiers.
Usage Information
We automatically receive information about your interactions with our Services, like the pages or other content you view, the dates and times of your interactions, the searches you conduct, how often you use our Services, where you downloaded the application from.
Location Data
We may infer your location from information we collect (for example, your IP address indicates the general geographic region from which you are connecting to the Internet). We may use location information to provide you with features, notifications, marketing, or other content that is influenced by your location (such as showing you the Services in your local language).
Location Information
Location of another user using ShepherdView can only be done by you if such positioning services are permitted by applicable law and (i) the user is a minor and you are the parent or legal guardian of such user or a third-party administrator authorized by a parent or legal guardian of such user, or (ii) the user is not a minor and the user has explicitly agreed that you may use ShepherdView for user location purposes. To prevent abuse, ShepherdView will notify the user when (s)he is being located by another user. Parents or legal guardians on behalf of their children may be able to disable location services on ShepherdView. ShepherdView may log and store certain information about your use of the app, including but not limited to time stamps for a positioning request (search, receipt notification) and activation of the Safety Alarm (search, call, receipt notification) etc. Such information shall be logged and stored for billing and customer support purposes only, and will be retained by ShepherdView when you close your account in question solely for billing purposes and financial record keeping.
Cookies and Similar Technologies
A cookie is a text-only string of information that a website transfers to the cookie file of the browser on your computer or mobile device. When you use our Services, we and our third-party service providers may collect information from you through cookies, web beacons, web server logs, and similar technologies. We may use both session cookies and persistent cookies. By using the Services, you consent to the placement of cookies, beacons, and similar technologies in your browser and on emails in accordance with this Privacy Policy. If you disable cookies on your browser, some parts of the Services may not work fully.
We work with analytics providers such as Google Analytics, which use cookies and similar technologies to collect and analyze information about use of the Services and report on activities and trends. Google Analytics may also collect information regarding the use of other websites, apps and online resources. We partner with third parties to manage our advertising on other sites. Our third-party partners may use technologies such as cookies to gather information about your activities on this website and other sites in order to provide you advertising based upon your browsing activities and interests. Some of our advertising partners are members of the Network Advertising Initiative or the Digital Advertising Alliance. If you do not wish to receive our personalized ads, please visit their opt-out pages to learn about how you may opt out of receiving personalized ads from member companies. Please note this does not opt you out of being served ads. You will continue to receive generic ads.
Our Services may include links, features or components supplied by third parties, such as the Facebook “Like” button or other interactive tools. Such third-parties may have information practices different than those set forth herein and their use of cookies and similar technologies is not covered by this Privacy Policy. We do not have access to or control over such third parties and encourage you to consult the privacy notices provided by those third parties.
Information We Obtain From Third Parties
We may receive information about you from our third-party partners, such as business or marketing partners. We may combine this information with the other information we collect about you to provide more useful information to you regarding our services. This information may include, for example, your name, address, and billing information.
We also receive information when you register through a ShepherdView partner (e.g. a partner who co-hosts an event, webinar, or whitepaper).
2. How ShepherdView Uses Information
ShepherdView will use information, including Personal Information, for the following purposes:
- Providing the Service – We use your information to provide, enhance, improve, and personalize our Services.
- Facilitating Transactions – We use your payment information to facilitate your transactions and payments.
- Analytics – We will use your information to understand and analyze how you use our Services.
- Marketing and Advertising – We will use your information for marketing purposes, such as contacting you about ShepherdView’s products and services, providing you with promotional materials that may be useful, relevant, valuable or otherwise of interest to you. We use Personal Information that we collect in connection with the Services, such as your location and your activities on the Services, to determine whether ShepherdView may wish to contact you in order to offer you ShepherdView’s services and to facilitate the delivery of advertisements. We may send you (a) information about topics or content that we think may interest you, or (b) updates about the latest developments or features on the Services. We also may send push notifications to your device and a newsletter or similar materials to the email address you provide to us in the event that you subscribe to receive such a newsletter
- Communications – ShepherdView will use your information to communicate with you, including to respond to your inquiries and to send emails to an email address you provide to us for customer-service or technical support purposes.
If you are located in the European Economic Area, we only process your Personal Information based on a valid legal ground, including when:
- You have consented to the use of your Personal Information, for example, to receive marketing communications. You may withdraw any consent you previously provided to us regarding the processing of your Personal
Information, at any time and free of charge. We will apply your preferences going forward and this will not affect the lawfulness of the processing before your consent withdrawal; - We need your Personal Information to provide you with the Services, including for account registration, or to respond to your inquiries;
- We have a legal obligation to use your Personal Information; and
- We or a third party, have a legitimate interest in using your Personal Information. In particular, we have a legitimate interest in using your Personal Information to conduct business analytics, and otherwise improve the safety, security, and performance of our Services
3. How ShepherdView Discloses Information
Corporate Affiliates of ShepherdView may share your information with and receive information from ShepherdView’s offices throughout the world, subject to this Privacy Policy. During your interaction with our app, website or premises, we may provide private sector operators performing government functions, with information such as your name, contact details, or other details you provide us for the purpose of performing our statutory mandate to you or third parties.
Service Providers
We may share your information with our vendors, service providers, and other third parties that perform services on our behalf. You accept that your pictures and testimonials on all social media platforms about the ShepherdView can be used for limited promotional purposes by us. This does not include your trademark or copyrighted materials.
Advertising Partners
ShepherdView may work with and share your Personal Information with our third-party advertising partners to provide you with advertisements regarding ShepherdView’s Services. For more information about our advertising and marketing practices and those of the third-party advertising partners, please see the Cookies and Related Technologies section above.
As Required by Law and Similar Disclosures
We may disclose information about you: (i) if we are required to do so by law, regulation, or legal process, such as a court order or subpoena; (ii) in response to requests by government agencies, such as law enforcement authorities; (iii) when we believe disclosure is necessary or appropriate to protect against or respond to physical, financial or other harm, injury, or loss to property; or (iv) in connection with an investigation of suspected or actual unlawful activity.
Merger, Sale, or Other Asset Transfers
ShepherdView may disclose your Personal Information to a potential or actual acquirer, successor, or assignee as part of any reorganization, merger, sale, joint venture, assignment, transfer or other disposition of all or any portion of our business, assets or stock (including in bankruptcy or similar proceedings).

From time to time we may send you relevant information such as news items, enforcement notice, statutorily mandated notices and essential information to aid the implementation of our mandate. We may also share your personal information in compliance with national or international laws; crime prevention and risk management agencies and service providers.
4. Transfer to Other Countries
If you are using the Services from regions with laws governing data collection and use, then please note that we may transfer your Personal information to multiple countries throughout the world, including the United States. These countries may not have the same data protection laws as the country in which you initially provided the information. By providing your Personal Information to the Service, you consent to any transfer and processing in accordance with this Policy.
If you are located in the EEA or Switzerland, we comply with applicable data protection law when transferring your Personal Information outside of this area. In particular, we may transfer your Personal Information to countries for which adequacy decisions have been issued, use contractual protections for the transfer of Personal Information to our headquarters or third parties, such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses, or rely on third parties’ certification to the EU-U.S. or Swiss-U.S. Privacy Shield frameworks, where applicable. 5. Data Retention
We take measures to delete your Personal Information or keep it in a form that does not permit identifying you when this information is no longer necessary for the purposes for which we process it, unless we are required by law to keep this information for a longer period or to, or such information is necessary to resolve disputes and enforce our agreements. When determining the retention period, we take into account various criteria, such as the type of products and services requested by or provided to you, the nature and length of our relationship with you, possible re-enrolment with our products or services, the impact on the services we provide if we delete some information from or about you, mandatory retention periods provided by law and the statute of limitations.
6. Account Deletion
You can delete your account on the app by sending us a delete request via email at support@shepherdviewapp.com to request. Once you delete your account, all information is deleted from our database.
7. Our Commitment to Security
ShepherdView employs a variety of security technologies and procedures designed to help prevent unauthorized disclosure of, access to and use of Information that ShepherdView collects or receives. However, ShepherdView cannot guarantee the security of your Information. We will always hold your information securely. To prevent unauthorized access to your information, we have implemented strong controls and security safeguards at the technical and operational levels. Our website uses Secure Sockets Layer/Transport Layer Security (SSL/TLS) to ensure secure transmission of your Personal Data. You should see the padlock symbol in your URL address bar once you are successfully logged into the platform. The URL address will also start with https:// depicting a secure webpage. SSL applies encryption between two points such as your PC and the connecting server. Any data transmitted during the session will be encrypted before transmission and decrypted at the receiving end. This is to ensure that data cannot be read during transmission. ShepherdView has also taken measures to comply with global Information Security Management Systems. We have, therefore, have put in place digital and physical security measures to limit or eliminate possibilities of data privacy breach incidents.
8. Data Confidentiality Rights
Your information is regarded as confidential and will not be divulged to any third party, except under legal and/or regulatory conditions. You have the right to request sight of, and copies of any and all information we keep on you, if such requests are made in compliance with the Freedom of Information Act and other relevant enactments. While ShepherdView is responsible for safeguarding the information entrusted to us, your role in fulfilling confidentiality duties includes, but is not limited to, adopting and enforcing appropriate security measures such as non-sharing of passwords and other platform login details, adherence with physical security protocols on our premises, dealing with only authorized officers of the company.
9. Links to Other Websites and Premises
Certain transaction processing channels may require links to other websites or organizations other than ours. Please note that the ShepherdView is not responsible and has no control over websites outside its domain. We do not monitor or review the content of other party’s websites which are linked from our website or media platforms.
Opinions expressed or materials appearing on such websites are not necessarily shared or endorsed by us, and ShepherdView should not be regarded as the publisher of such opinions or materials.
Please be aware that we are not responsible for the privacy practices, or content of these sites.
We encourage our users to be aware of when they leave our site, and to read the privacy statements of these sites. You should evaluate the security and trustworthiness of any other site connected to this site or accessed through this site yourself, before disclosing any personal information to them.
ShepherdView will not accept any responsibility for any loss or damage in whatever manner, however caused, resulting from your disclosure to third parties of personal information.
10. Children’s Privacy
We do not knowingly collect, maintain, or use Personal Information from children under 13 years of age, and no part of the Service is directed to children under the age of 13. If you learn that your child has provided us with personal information without your consent, then you may alert us at support@shepherdviewapp.com. If we learn that we have collected any Personal Information from children under 13, then we will promptly take steps to delete such information.
11. Do Not Track
Some web browsers incorporate a “Do Not Track” feature. Because there is not yet an accepted standard for how to respond to Do Not Track signals, our website does not currently respond to such signals.
12. Your Rights and Choices
Global Rights Upon request, ShepherdView will provide you with information about whether we hold any of your Personal Information. You can update or correct Personal Information (e.g., your email address) by accessing your account. You can also access or rectify your information by reaching out to us at support@shepherdviewapp.com. You can delete your information by sending an email to support@shepherdviewapp.com. with your first name, last name, and the respective email addresses you would like for us to delete. To opt-out of receiving our newsletters or marketing emails, you can follow the unsubscribe instructions included in the emails communications you receive, access the email preferences in your account settings page, or contact us at the above email address. Please note that we have the right to reject deletion requests that are unduly burdensome or repetitive or that cannot be honored in light of legal obligations or ongoing disputes, or where retention is necessary to enforce our agreements or protect our or another party’s rights, property, safety, or security.
European Rights If you are located in the European Economic Area or Switzerland, you may have the right to exercise your right to data portability to easily transfer your Personal Information to another company. In addition, you may also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, including in your country of residence, place of work or where an incident took place.

This privacy policy is made pursuant to the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation 2019 and other relevant Nigerian laws, regulations or international conventions applicable to Nigeria. SMS Privacy Policy
ShepherdView is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy (the “Policy”) governs how we treat the Personal Information that we collect and receive from you in connection with your use of the SMS Service (“Service”), which we make available to you through a third-party service provider. This Policy is incorporated into the Terms of Service.
By using the Service, you agree to the terms of this Policy. ShepherdView reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to modify or change this Policy at any time with or without prior notice to you. The date of the last update will be posted at the top of this Policy for your convenience. This Policy, and any changes, are effective as soon as posted. Your continued use of the Service following the posting of any changes to the Policy constitutes your full acceptance of those changes.
“Personal Information” is information that individually identifies you, such as your mobile phone number or username, as well as any Personal Information that you choose to include in messages you send through the Service.
What Personal Information is collected about you
Through the use of the Service, ShepherdView will receive the following information from our third-party service provider: your mobile phone number when you send a text message to us, the text of messages that you send to other users of the Service, any user or screen name that you select in connection with the Service, as well as any comments or feedback regarding the Service that you send to us.
How ShepherdView uses Personal Information about you
We use your Personal Information to (a) provide you with the Service, (b) process and respond to inquiries, (c) improve the Service, (d) if necessary, contact you with important announcements or messages, (e) conduct research, and (f) provide anonymous reporting for internal and external clients and partners. Each message you send through the Service (either to us or to other users of the Service) is stored on our servers. We retain these messages on our servers. ShepherdView utilizes servers and services owned by third parties.
Disclosure of your information
We will not rent or sell your Personal Information to other companies or individuals, unless we have your consent. We may use or disclose such information in any of the following limited circumstances: We have your consent.
- We need to enforce our Terms of Service.

Security
ShepherdView takes precautions to ensure the security of your Personal Information, including ensuring that our third-party service providers protect the security of your Personal Information. However, we cannot guarantee that hackers or unauthorized personnel will not gain access to your Personal Information despite our efforts. You should note that in using the Service, your information will travel through third-party infrastructures which are not under our control (such as a third-party SMS delivery platform or your carrier network). We cannot protect, nor does this Policy apply to, any information that you transmit to other users. You should never transmit personal or identifying information to other users.

Message frequency varies – user will receive messages when they register their account and/or when an SOS message is sent to them. Message and data rates may apply

Opting in
A mobile user might opt-in by:
- Entering a phone number online,
- Sending an Mobile Originating (MO) message containing an advertising keyword,
- Filling out a paper form that includes their phone number, or
- Signing up at a point-of-sale location.
Opting out
ShepherdView’s third-party service provider gives you the ability to opt out of the Service for any reason. You can opt out by texting “STOP” or “QUIT”.
We reserve the right to send you certain communications relating to the Service, such as announcements and administrative messages, without offering you the opportunity to opt-out of receiving them.
Children
The Service is not intended for children under 13, and ShepherdView does not knowingly collect information from children under the age of 13. Children aged 13 or older should not submit any Personal Information without the permission of their parents or guardians. By using the Service, you are representing that you are at least 18, or that you are at least 13 years old and have your parents’ permission to use the service.
